A Friday horror festival featuring an American Gothic theme would absolutely be incomplete without at least one Poe story. Being the huge fan of Vincent Price that I am (and also of Roger Corman), I have to go with one of the films Price made in the 60's of Poe's work. At least two of those films are high camp, but this one I think counts as genuinely scary. Whole film is embed above.
