Frightmare (1974)

This Pete Walker's first full on horror movie, developed into a script by David McGillivray from an original story by Walker himself.  Of course, given his rather twisted flare for the exploitative macabre, the story naturally revolves around spree killing, cannibalism and an insane asylum.  Known States side as  Cover Up, the story centers on a very strange couple, both previously locked up for "insanity issues" and both released at the same time after fifteen years, back out into a society that has moved on from the days of their incarceration.  I haven't seen this film in years!!  I remember it being a lot more psychological than I expected when I decided first to watch it for shock factor only.  It's a really solid, and underrated piece of British Horror Cine'.
